Rio de Janeiro - After weeks of rumors and talks of a change in management for the Brazilian National Team, it is finally official: the Brazilian Cycling Federation made an offer to Erick, The Moulin Rougers' manager, to step up and take over from Pelé, VC Botafogo's manager. "It is a great pleasure and an honour", says Erick.
After roughly 3 seasons, The Moulin Rougers has been #1 in the Brazilian rankings for a while, being single-handedly led by Guilherme Andrino, prodigious cobbler. "Andrino will be our absolute captain for cobbles and a good leadout for sprints in the national team", says Erick. "I have not talked to riders from other teams, so I cannot say whether we will have new faces or not", he complements.
Being on the verge of becoming a 1st division World Tour team, the Brazilian Cycling Federation is certainly hoping for this change to inject some new blood at management level and, hopefully, cementing the Brazilian position as one of the 20 best national teams in the world.
